İslamı öğreniyorum ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application that provides prayer times, community Q&A, news, and Islamic learning resources. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the İslamı öğreniyorum app and this website (learningislamapp.com), you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you choose to provide it:

• Account information — your full name, email address, and a password (hashed) when you create an account, or your Google profile name, email, and picture if you sign in with Google.
• Profile information — optional details you add during profile setup, such as your occupation, address/city, a short bio, and a profile picture.
• Community content — questions, answers, comments, and posts you publish in the Q&A and Community sections, including any photos or videos you choose to attach.
• Device and push tokens — a device identifier and push-notification token so we can send you prayer-time and community notifications.
• Usage data — app settings such as language, theme, and notification preferences, and basic analytics to help us improve the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and keep you signed in across sessions.
• To calculate and show accurate prayer times and send prayer/event notifications you request.
• To power the community Q&A, posts, comments, and likes you participate in.
• To generate AI-assisted answers to community questions (your question text is sent to our AI provider).
• To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
• To measure and improve app quality, features, and security.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the ways needed to run the app:

• With our hosting and push-notification provider (Expo) to deliver push notifications to your device.
• With our AI provider (Google Gemini) when you request an AI-generated answer; we send only your question text and language preference, not your identity.
• Within the community, your public profile name, avatar, and any content you can publish are visible to other users, as they are intended to be public.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account and profile data while your account is active. If you delete your account, your account data — including your profile picture and locally stored community contributions — is permanently removed from our servers. Some analytics and push-device records may be retained in aggregated or anonymized form for a limited period to maintain service quality.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including secure HTTPS transport, hashed passwords, and limited, access-controlled storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• You can correct inaccurate information by editing your profile in the app.
• You can request deletion of your account and data at any time.
• You can opt out of email notifications and controls within the app or the device.
• If you are located in the EEA/UK or Türkiye, you have the rights granted under GDPR (including the Turkish Personal Data Protection Act — Law No. 6698) and applicable data-protection laws.

7. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children. If we become aware that a user is under the legally applicable minimum age (which depends on the jurisdiction), we may remove their account and content.

8. Location Data

We use the city you select to compute prayer times. We do not track your precise GPS location. Prayer-time calculations are based only on the city's latitude, longitude, and time zone you choose.

9. Third-Party Services

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Those stores have their own privacy policies. We also use the following services to function, each with its own policy: Expo (push notifications), Google Gemini (AI answer generation), Firebase (authentication), and Google Programmable Search (sourced answers). When you use these services, their terms and privacy policies may also apply.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note the date of the last change at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
